Pathanamthitta: In relation to the murder of CPM Local Committee Secretary PB Sandeep Kumar, an audio recording assumed to be that of an accused, will be sent for scientific examination by the police. The audio recording would be a piece of crucial evidence that will help ascertain the motive and the involvement of the accused in the case.
Through the scientific test, the police are looking to confirm that the recorded voice is that of Vishnu, fifth accused in the case. For this, a recorded voice of the accused will be sent to the Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Science Lab examination along with the circulated audio recording. Given the political significance of the case, it is expected that there will be no delay in getting the result.
If the result is positive, it will become a shred of crucial evidence to be submitted in the court to prove the clear motive and agenda of the accused. Meanwhile, a native of Karuvatta, who helped the accused go into hiding, and Mithun, who is mentioned in the audio recording of the accused, are likely to be included in the accused list.
According to the audio recording, Mithun is a native of Changanassery. It is learnt that information about the role of Vishnu and Mithun can be revealed through questioning. The investigation team will also look into the phone details of the accused of the last six months.
Further, the Thiruvalla Magistrate Court will hear the petition seeking custody of the accused on Monday.
