Kollam: KB Ganesh Kumar MLA on Wednesday said that Kerala Congress (B) is not a family party and no one from his family is part of the party. His response came after his sister Usha Mohandas was elected as the president of a newly formed faction that split away from the Kerala Congress (B).
'I was elected as the party chairman by the state executive committee. Legally there is only one Kerala Congress (B),' Ganesh Kumar said dismissing the newly formed faction of Kerala Congress.
Earlier, Usha Mohandas split away from Kerala Congress (M) and formed a new party criticising his brother Ganesh Kumar for not following the democratic stand taken by the party.
"Kerala Congress is not a family party. I stepped into politics when my father was active in politics. For the past 23 years, I have been working at grassroot level. My decisions do not influence the decisions of the party. Every decision is taken unanimously,” Ganesh Kumar added.
