Vigilance quizzes KPA Majeed MLA over Azhikode Plus Two batch bribery case

Kozhikode: The Vigilance unit from Kannur questioned K P A Majeed MLA on Monday at the Kozhikode Police Club in connection to the Plus Two batch bribery case against former MLA KM Shaji.

However, Majeed denied that he was questioned by officials. He said that he visited the Kozhikode Police Club to see vigilance DySP, for personal purposes.

However, vigilance sources confirmed that the MLA was questioned in connection with the case. KPA Majeed was at the Kozhikode Police Club for about an hour and a half and was questioned by the Vigilance DySP, sources said.

The case was registered on the complaint that Shaji accepted a bribe of Rs 25 lakhs in order to allot Plus Two batch for Azhikode High School during the tenure of the UDF government.

KPA Majeed was the General Secretary of the Muslim League during the time of the incident. ED is also investigating the matter.
