Manasa murder case: SIT submits 200-page charge sheet, Rakhil's close friend named second accused

Ernakulam: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday has submitted a charge sheet in connection with the murder of Manasa, a BDS student of Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences in Kothamangalam. The 200-page charge sheet was filed in the Kothamangalam Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court named Rakhil (32), who committed suicide after shooting Manasa as the prime accused.

The second accused is Adithyan Pradeep (27), a Kannur native who was involved in the purchase of the gun which was used to murder Manasa. It was also revealed that Adithyan helped Rakhil in buying and bringing the gun from Bihar.

Sonu Kumar, 22, a Bihar native, who supplied the gun, is the third accused and Manish Kumar Varma, 21, a mediator, is the fourth accused. The charge sheet also mentions a total of 81 witnesses in relation to the case.

It was on July 30, PV Manasa, a BDS student of Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences in Nellikuzhi, Kothamangalam, was killed by Rakhil at the house in which she was living on rent.

Following the lead, the probe team carried out an interstate search and arrested the two accused from Bihar. All three accused are still in judicial custody.
