Valanchery: Two policemen have been suspended pending investigation on Tuesday for misusing a bike of a person who was killed in an accident. Santhosh and Pauly, the Grade Sub Inspectors of Kadampuzha police station, were suspended by Malappuram SP Sujit Das in connection with the incident.
Earlier, preliminary investigations by DySP had revealed that the police officers used the bike that was taken into custody for their personal use and even made forged documents.
Vincent, a native of Karnataka, was killed in a road accident on the National Highway on August 28. Later, the bike was taken to the Kadampuzha police station. However, when Vincent's relatives came looking for the bike, they could not find it in the station.
The police officials initially claimed that they purchased the bike from the relatives of the deceased. However, the family alleged they didn’t receive any money and that vehicle was illegally taken away from them using forged documents. The SP said that they have launched a detailed probe into the incident.
