Thrissur: DYFI’s plans to raise funds for building party office by selling payasam was harshly criticised on the social media. The announcement made by the Irinjalakkuda block committee on Christmas day requesting people to buy a litre of payasam to support their venture was withdrawn after getting flak from the online platforms.

A post was put up in the social media promoting the fair being organized to build the Bhagat Singh Bhavan, the district committee office of the DYFI. Those who took a stand against the party and the youth organization in the Karuvannur Bank scam criticized this advertisement.

"If the fair is held to help the investors in Karuvannur Bank, we are ready to buy up to 100 litres," one social media post read. With this, the organization withdrew their poster describing the sale on social media and raised a new one.

DYFI took a soft approach in the Karuvannur Bank scam which irked some within the party. Meanwhile, the organizers said that the fair was a huge success and that about 4,000 litres of payasam was sold.
