Thiruvananthapuram: In relation to Anupama’s child adoption case, CPM has banned Anupama's father and party member PS Jayachandran from attending party functions. Further, the party has also decided to carry out an investigation to validate the allegation levelled against him. The party will decide further on the matter after receiving the investigation report.
There was no disagreement at the decision taken by the party at the area committee meeting held on Wednesday to discuss the matter. The party has appointed a three-member commission of inquiry to probe Jayachandran. After the area committee meeting, the party area secretary told the media that the CPM would decide on the action against Jayachandran after receiving the commission's report. Until then, Jayachandran will be barred from party functions, he added.
However, Anupama reiterated that she did not agree with the party's inquiry at the area committee level and demanded a state-level inquiry involving a woman leader of the party.
