VD Satheesan
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Wednesday said that there was a conspiracy in Anupama’s child adoption case. He also accused that the chief minister and the CPM had a key role in the incident.
“The child was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee on October 22 at night. On the same night, the baby was taken to the hospital for examination and the baby's sex in the records was changed from boy to girl. This clearly shows that there was a conspiracy over the matter. Knowing this, on August 7, Anupama's child was allowed to be adopted by a couple from Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
Satheesan pointed out that when Anupama demanded to see her child on August 11, the authorities failed to provide a favourable reply to her. Meantime, they filed an affidavit in court on August 16 to confirm the adoption.
Satheesan also alleged that this was a case of human trafficking involving CPM and the office of the Chief Minister.
