3.9 kg gold hidden in trolley bag seized at Karipur airport

Malappuram: Official of the Air Intelligence unit have seized 3.9 kilograms of gold from two passengers at Karipur International Airport here on Wednesday. Sharif, a native of Pandikkad, and Shihab, a native of Tavanur in Malapuram were caught with the gold.

The duo who arrived from Jeddah tried to smuggle the gold by hiding it inside the handle of a trolley bag.

According to the officials, the value of seized gold has been estimated to be around Rs 2 crore in the market.
