Kanjirapally: A senior Police official who triggered a controversy by sharing a Facebook post of an SDPI leader was suspended from the service amid the row. Ramla Ismail, ASI of Kanjirapally Station, was suspended based on the findings of an investigation conducted by Kanjirapally DySP.

Earlier, she gave a statement claiming that her husband had mistakenly shared the post while using her phone. BJP also demanded action against the police officer over the incident.

Kanjirappilly DYSP submitted the inquiry report to Kottayam District Police Chief and DIG insisting on action against the woman police officer.
