Kerala will have special task force for food safety inspection: Health Minister


Thiruvanathapuram: Health Minister Veena George here on Thursday informed that the food safety department raided 545 eateries across the state. The officials ordered to shut down 14 shops which operated in unhygienic conditions and 18 other eateries without license. Notice was served to 177 shops.

The minister declared that the food safety department will continue the inspections across the state in the coming days too.

“ A special state task force will be formed to conduct lightning food inspections,” said the minister while addressing the food safety enforcement officials’ meet here.

This task force will be deployed for inspection in any part of the state. Respective food safety officials in each area will also a part of this team, added the minister.
