Earlier, in case of death of the owner, the transfer of ownership to another person was a complicated process with a series of official procedures. The department had to hear the statements of all the heirs of the owner and can transfer the vehicle only if they reach a compromise. The heirs also had to appear and submit self-declaration in the office of the Motor Vehicle Department. Over 400 cases in connection with the vehicle inheritance exists in the vehicle department offices in the state.
