New Delhi: Eldhose Kunnappilly MLA, who is in New Delhi to participate in the UDF dharna against the Centre’s economic policies, was attacked by stray dogs in the wee hours on Thursday.
Interestingly, Kunnappilly was one among the few people’s representatives who vehemently opposed the killing of stray dogs in Kerala following widespread incidents of stray dog attacks.
The incident happened near the residence of Union Minister for Women & Child Development Maneka Gandhi. Kunnappilly was on a morning walk along with MLAs I C Balakrishnan and V P Sajeendran when two dogs chased him and attacked him.
Talking to Mathrubhumi.com, Kunnappilly sarcastically said “if this is the fate of someone who talked against killing of dogs, how will the dogs here take on Jose Maveli?” Jose Maveli had led many people’s movements demanding culling of stray dogs.
Describing the incident, the MLA said he was wearing a track suit and the clothes were completely torn off in the attack. “It was very unexpected and I was in a state of shock,” he said about the incident.
