Kerala tops in use of e-Sanjeevani telemedicine
Kottayam: Kerala has topped among the states which use e-Sanjeevani telemedicine facility of the central government amid the lockdown over COVID-19 outbreak. Till Friday, 4432 people used the service in Kerala. Interestingly, the telemedicine service got such wide popularity in Kerala within a month.
Tamil Nadu which implemented the service on May 1 was placed in the second position. A total of 3898 people used the service in Tamil Nadu. At the same time, 3375 people consulted doctors through the online telemedicine service.
E-Sanjeevani platform, an online OPD service, is widely used for telemedicine by non-COVID patients across the country.

Kerala government has launched the telemedicine service under e-Sanjeevani on June 10 in the background of COVID-19 outbreak. The online OPD service aims to give timely medical care to aged and other patients who are unable to seek medical care amid the lockdown.
A total of 232 doctors are serving in various shifts under the online service.
“Medical care under general medicine, lifestyle diseases, mental health of children and aged is provided under e-Sanjeevani. Apart from this, a special OP for cancer patients who are under treatment at Malabar cancer centre is also provided,” said e-Sanjeevani nodal officer Dr VS Divya.
