Thiruvananthapuram: State Industries Minister P Rajeev has informed that the Kerala government is planning to establish 100 private industrial parks in the next three years. “The objective is to pool investment worth Rs 1,000 crore,” he said.
The government has already given developer permit to four entities. According to the minister, 28 applications have been received so far.
All private industrial parks spanning above 15 acres need to seek the government’s special permission and a decision on the applications will be taken within three months, he pointed out.
He also informed that Kerala Limited (INKEL) --- a consultancy firm partly owned by the state government will establish an industrial park in partnership with another private entity.
The minister highlighted branding integration of MSMEs and private industrial parks as ‘Made in Kerala’. “This will be more convenient for common matters and marketing,” he said.
He further elaborated on the various measures planned to improve the industrial environment of Kerala and listed the achievements of the state in the last six months.
