Kerala to expand COVID-19 preventive measures, deploy ‘health force’
Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of surging COVID-19 cases in the state, the government has decided to expand the preventive measures by deploying health workers, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said during the media briefing after Covid review meeting.
First line treatment centres with 100 beds will be opened in all panchayats. Health workers will be recruited for this very soon. The health force system will be deployed to render service anytime. Along with health workers from the government sector, those in the private sector and students will also be included. Moreover, private hospitals and labs will be associated. The local bodies will initiate measures in this regard, he added.
CM further said that the number of Covid tests will be increased in the state. Also measures will be taken to deliver the test results at the earliest. Private labs will be used for this purpose, he further stated.
