Thiruvananthapuram: The state government is taking baby steps to bring health department under e-office mechanism. According to health minister Veena George, e-office mechanism and punching-based attendance system in Directorate of Health Services, will be rolled out from next week. The technical lapses will be resolved and the process will be streamlined, she said.
The registration of employees for the punching-based system is ongoing. Most of the employees have already registered. Trial run at the Directorate has begun.
Meanwhile, the long-term plan is to bring the entire health department under e-office mechanism. In district medical offices, e-office mechanism is getting ready. The employees are getting trained for this, added Veena George.
