Kochi: The Kerala state school science fair will commence in Ernakulam on Thursday. The science fair is coming back after a break of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Interstingly, Ernakulam is hosting the fair after 15 years.
Director of General Education K Jeevan Babu will hoist the flag at Government HSS for Girls, Ernakulam. Education minister V Sivankutty will inaugurate the fair at 10:30 am at the Ernakulam Town Hall.
The registration for science, mathematics, social science, IT and special school work experience fair was held at the Government HSS for Girls on Wednesday. On Thursday, registration will be open for general school work experience.
Competitions will be conducted in 154 items in five categories; science, social science, work experience, IT and mathematics. A vocational expo will be held along with the science fair. Over 5,000 students will take part in the competitions.
The competitions will be held at six venues. St. Albert’s HSS and St. Antony’s HSS, Kacheripady are the venues for the science fair and mathematics fair respectively.
Meanwhile, arrangements for the social science fair at Darul Uloom HSS and the IT fair at Government HSS for Girls are also completed.
SRV Government Model VHSS is the venue for the vocational expo, career seminar and job fair.
