Thiruvananthapuram: Considering the demands of the parents, the government increased the additional science batches for Plus One to 20. The education department on Thursday issued an order to allow 79 new temporary batches.
49 humanities and 10 commerce batches too were approved.
Parents and students have been complaining about lack of seats in preferred streams and school since the beginning of allotments. Minister Sivankutty assured that everyone will get admission. Initially, the government tried to manage the rush with an increase in the seats in existing batches. However, later they decided to allot new batches.
The applications to the new batches will start on December 14.
