Kottayam: It was the complaint of a Changanassery native woman that helped the police to crack the 'couple sharing' group in Kerala. The group, which is active on social media, has around 1,000 men who are ready to swap their wives for sex, police claim.
The Changanassery woman complained that she was raped by a group member. Her husband forced her to have sex with him, against her wish.
In 2019, four people were arrested in Kayamkulam in a similar incident. The wife of an arrested man alleged that she was forced to have sex with two people and the husband was asking her to sleep with more strangers. They were communicating through ShareChat.
Though police were aware of similar cases in the state, they could not act due to lack of complaint as many such incidents happen with consent.
However, the latest case is more serious as it involves financial dealings as well, police say. Some unmarried men in the group paid husbands to have sex with their wives. The matter will be probed in detail and more arrests will be made soon, sources said.
