Krishnapriya with her craft teacher Rekha on school reopening day
Balussery: Krishnapriya, a third standard student of AUP School, Nanmanda is a ‘fake admission’ in the eyes of the Education Department. The department claims that her admission was fabricated to maintain the teachers’ post in the school.
When the department nullified the third standard in the school citing the matter, Krishnapriya got expelled from the school in records. The teacher who taught Krishnapriya for three years has to return all the benefits obtained from the government.
Along with this, the school authority was asked to remit the expense of uniform, mid-day meal and other supplies delivered by the government for a student who did not exist. Meanwhile, 9-year-old Krishnapriya had to report at many offices to prove that she is a genuine student.
Krishnapriya had come to school this week, without knowing all these complications. As the third standard has been cancelled, the teachers and parents have no idea how many days the class can be continued.
Krishnapriya has joined the first standard of the school in the academic year 2019-20. Details of her admission along with the birth certificate, Aadhar card and admission number 5833 have been recorded in the Sampoorna portal. However, the Super Check Cell of the Education Department received a complaint about Krishnapriya’s admission. The officers of the cell claim that the student was absent when they reached the school twice for admission.
As the name of the student was not removed from the register, she could not obtain admission to any other school. Though the third standard was officially nullified in the school, the teacher who has a service of 28 years got a post in another school.
