Kozhikode: Preparations have begun for the grand celebration of Kerala State School Kalolsavam (arts festival) returning after a break of two years due to Covid-19. The construction of a huge pandal is in progress at the main venue of the event, West Hill Vikram Maidan.

The pandal covers an area of ​​60,000 sq.feet. It can accommodate 15,000 people. The stage, greenroom and other related facilities will be set up in 3,500 sq.feet. There will be 14 greenrooms and 15 toilets at the venue. Restrooms will also be set up.

Police and fireforce pavilions, VIP lounge and stalls for media, organising committee and sub-committees will also be set up at Kozhikode: Preparations have begun for the Kerala State School Kalolsavam as it returns after a break of two years due to Covid. The pandals that will be set up at every venue including the main venue will cover an area of around two lakh sq.feets. A 40,000-sq.feet pandal will be set up for dining.

Food for the festival will be prepared by Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri. Food committee convenor VP Raji said vegetables collected from schools will be delivered on Friday.

Several events will be held at schools in the state on Friday to promote the festival. The events for ‘Kelikottu’ will include flash mobs, writing competitions and processions.
