Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 3,382 COVID-19 cases on Monday, informed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He was addressing the media after a coronavirus review meet here.
The district wise distribution of positive cases are: Malappuram - 611, Kozhikode - 481, Ernakulam - 317, Alappuzha - 275, Thrissur - 250, Kottayam - 243, Palakkad - 242, Kollam - 238, Thiruvananthapuram - 234, Kannur - 175, Pathanamthitta – 91, Wayanad – 90, Kasaragod – 86 and Idukki – 49.
6,055 people have recovered from the disease. 34,689 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is at 9.75 percent. So far, 62,62,476 samples were tested in different priority groups.
21 deaths were confirmed in the state on Monday by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the total number of coronavirus fatalities rose to 2,244.
Out of the total number of positive cases, 64 people came from outside the state. 2,880 people contracted the virus through contact. The virus source of 405 cases has not been identified.
The district wise statistics of contact cases are: Malappuram - 578, Kozhikode - 447, Ernakulam - 246, Alappuzha - 258, Thrissur - 244, Kottayam - 240, Palakkad - 104, Kollam - 235, Thiruvananthapuram - 153, Kannur - 121, Pathanamthitta – 76, Wayanad – 78, Kasaragod – 75 and Idukki – 25.
33 health workers tested COVID positive on Monday. The district wise cases of COVID positive health workers are: Kozhikode - 11, Thiruvananthapuram - 6, Kannur - 4, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Wayanad – 2 each, Palakkad, Kottayam, Kasaragod and Kollam - 1 each.
The district wise statistics of negative cases are: Thiruvananthapuram - 334, Kollam - 633, Pathanamthitta - 143, Alappuzha - 765, Kottayam - 156, Idukki - 455, Ernakulam - 518, Thrissur - 659, Palakkad - 482, Malappuram - 507, Kozhikode – 913, Wayanad - 116, Kannur – 299 and Kasaragod - 75.
Currently, there are 61,894 people undergoing treatment in the state. 5,38,713 people have recovered from the disease.
3,11,770 people are under observation across various districts in the state. Out of this, 2,96,094 people are in home/institutional quarantine and 15,676 people are in hospitals. 1,481 people were taken to hospitals on Monday.
6 new hotspots were identified in the state on Monday while 26 areas were removed from the list. In total, there are 504 hotspots in Kerala.
