Kerala releases buffer zone map submitted to union govt in 2021

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala forest department has published the report and map submitted to the union government in 2021 regarding the eco-sensitive zones in Kerala. It contains the buffer zones surrounding 22 protected forest areas in the state.

The map is accessible on multiple government websites. The form to file a complaint against the map is also available.

The map and report were released as per the decision of the high-level committee which met on Wednesday. It had also decided to set up help desks in all local body wards.

The government had recently conducted an aerial survey. Besides, a ground survey would be undertaken soon.
