Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 506 Covid-19 cases on Thursday, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while briefing media after the Covid review meet here. However, the numbers are of those samples tested till Thursday noon as some technical works are being done on ICMR website, CM added.
Among the new patients, 375 contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 29 cases is unknown. Out of the new coronavirus cases, 31 had returned from abroad while 40 returned from other states.
Two deaths were reported in the state. Also, 37 health workers tested Covid positive on Thursday.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases along with number of contact cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 70, Kollam – 22, Pathanamthitta – 59, Alappuzha – 55, Kottayam – 29, Idukki – 6, Ernakulam – 34, Thrissur – 83, Palakkad – 4, Malappuram – 32, Kozhikode – 42, Wayanad – 3, Kannur – 39 and Kasaragod – 4.
Meanwhile, 794 people recovered from the infection on Thursday: Thiruvananthapuram – 220, Kollam – 83, Pathanamthitta – 81, Alappuzha – 20, Kottayam – 49, Idukki – 31, Ernakulam – 69, Thrissur – 68, Palakkad – 36, Malappuram – 12, Kozhikode – 57, Wayanad – 17, Kannur – 47 and Kasaragod – 4.
In the past 24 hours, 21,533 samples were tested, CM added.
