Kerala receives 9.85 lakh COVID vaccine doses, confirms health minister
Thiruvananthapuram: Health minister Veena George has informed that Kerala received 9,85,490 doses of the COVID vaccine. The fresh stock includes 1,32,340 doses of Covishield vaccine purchased by the state and 6 lakh Covishield vaccine allotted by the centre.
The centre supplied 6 lakh vaccine doses to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kozhikode on Friday.
Covishield vaccine doses ordered by the state through Kerala Medical Services Corporation were also reached Ernakulam.
Apart from this stock,97,500 doses of covaxin and 1,55,650 doses of covishield vaccine will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday night.
The minister declared that the fresh stock of Covaxin will benefit the people who are waiting for the second dose.
The state received a total of 1,21,75,020 doses of vaccine. Out of this, Kerala purchased 13,42,540 doses of vaccine including 12,04,960 covishield doses and 1,37,580 covaxin doses. Meanwhile, centre supplied a total of 1,08,32,480 doses of vaccine including 97,90,330 covishield doses and 10,42,150 covaxin doses.
