Wayanad: As heavy rains continue to batter Kerala, educational institutions in Wayanad will remain closed on Monday.
The district collector A Geetha declared the holiday following the incessant rains over the past couple of days and also informed that the institutions can decide upon making any Saturday a working day to compensate for the holiday.
Educational institutions including professional colleges, nurseries, CBSE, ICSE schools and Anganwadis will be closed on Monday. However, residential educational institutions are excluded from this.
Holiday was declared for schools in Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts, where camps have been set up.
