Thiruvananthapuram: BJP leader and Union Minister of State, V Muraleedharan, said that Kerala opposition leader VD Satheeshan has become the advocate of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Satheesan has taken upon himself the task to save the left front government from embarrassing situations, he said while reacting to the D Litt controversy triggered by former opposition leader and Congress veteran Ramesh Chennithala.
Muraleedharan was speaking to reporters here on Sunday. He said that Satheesan has turned into a mouthpiece of the CM and he was acting without any sense. Kerala Governor has all the right to recommend to confer a D Litt to the President of India, he said.
The Union Minister asked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan whether the Kerala Government and Kerala University had denied D Litt to the President since he was a Dalit. He also said that the Kerala government had insulted the President of the country.
Earlier, Ramesh Chennithala had accused that Governor recommended Kerala University VC to confer honorary D Litt to President of India but the state government did not permit it. CPM and Governor ridiculed the allegations. Satheesan, reacting to the allegation, said that though Ramesh has the right to make his comments, the official stance of the party are expressed by himself and state president K Sudhakaran.
