The deceased Sandeep-The two held over the murder

Pathanamthitta: The prime suspect in the murder of the CPM leader Sandeep Kumar in Thiruvalla denied any political motive behind the crime. Jishnu said that personal vendetta culminated in the murder. He also suspected conspiracy in the allegations of his links with BJP.

The accused responded to the media while taking them back to the police station from the Judicial First Class Magistrate court at Thiruvalla on Monday.

Jishnu said that he has had no connections with BJP in the past year. We did not intend to kill Sandeep, he said. The third accused Nandu claimed that only Jishnu had personal issues with the deceased.

The court sent the five suspects to police custody for eight days. The investigation team informed the court that only the first phase of the interrogation was completed and the probe for the evidence related to the statements are yet to be obtained.

No lawyers were present for the accused in court.
