Slain Maoist Ajitha’s body cremated in police presence


The body was cremated as per the Court directives at the public crematorium.

Kozhikode: Body of Ajitha, one of the two Maoists killed in an encounter in Nilambur forests on November 24, was cremated under the supervision of police.

The body was cremated as per the Court directives at the public crematorium. Ajitha’s relatives and human rights activists were present.

Though the relatives and rights activists had urged the police to hand over the body to them, the police had rejected their demand.

The body of Kuppu Devaraj, who was killed in the encounter along with Ajitha, was cremated earlier.
