Kochi: The CCTV footage of the accident that led to the death of a fisherman in Kaloor has come out. Meanwhile, police have registered a POCSO case against the youngsters Jithu and Sebastian who were in the car.
The police had narrowed down on racing as a possible cause of the accident in the first stage of the investigation. But on detailed inspection, cannabis was found inside the car. Witnesses gave statements that there were two girls in the car as well. It was also found that the youngsters were using synthetic drugs extensively.
The car that sped away from the accident scene without stopping was waylaid by the locals. But the girls were not present in the car at the time. The youngsters dropped off the girls after the accident.
Police are also investigating other possible criminal involvements of the youngsters.
