Archbishop Dr M Soosa Pakiam announced the name of the new archbishop during the Eucharist hosted at St. Joseph’s Latin Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral, Palayam.

Thiruvananthapuram: Monsignor Thomas J Netto was chosen as the new Archbishop of the Latin Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram.

Archbishop Dr M Soosa Pakiam announced the name of the new archbishop during the Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Latin Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral, Palayam. Soosa Pakiam informed his official resignation during the ceremony.

Monsignor Thomas J Netto (57) hails from Puthiyathura in Thiruvananthapuram and is at present the Episcopal Vicar and Coordinator of Ministries.

Monsignor Netto holds a doctorate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome.

He has been serving as the Episcopal Vicar since 2014.
