Woman trapped inside well after trying to save pet dog; rescued


The pet dog belonging to Kundamoozhi native Parvathy (25) fell into a domestic well. Parvathy tied two saris together and went into the well to save the dog.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Fire & Rescue Services saved a woman who fell into a well after trying to rescue her pet dog. The incident took place at Vilappilsala on Thursday afternoon.

The pet dog belonging to Kundamoozhi native Parvathy (25) fell into a domestic well. Parvathy tied two saris together and went inside the well to save the dog. The young woman grabbed hold of the sari after rescuing the dog and was trying to get out of the well when she slipped further and fell. She was unable to climb due to injuries sustained on her leg and arms.

She held on to the pipe of the pump set inside the well and the Fire and Rescue Services from Kattakkada were engaged in the rescue operation.

Fireman Mahendra went down the well and assistant Station Officer Murugan and officers Anil Kumar, Biju, Vinumon and Sajeev Raj took part in the rescue operation.
