Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 543 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, informed the health department in a press release. The test positivity rate was recorded at 3.04 per cent.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Ernakulam-109, Kottayam-78, Thiruvananthapuram-60, Thrissur-58, Kozhikode-45, Pathanamthitta-43, Kollam-25, Idukki-24, Kannur-22, Malappuram-21, Palakkad- 20, Alappuzha-18, Wayanad-18, and Kasaragod- 12.
A total of 17,804 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
15,298 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this,14,838 people are under home/institutional quarantine and 460 people are in hospitals. 88 people were taken to hospitals on Sunday.
Among the 4,389 active Covid cases reported, only 10 per cent of patients are admitted to hospitals/field hospitals.
No deaths were reported within the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the health department reported 2 deaths that are newly certified as Covid-19 deaths based on the revised rules. Apart from this, 79 more deaths recorded late due to the delay in obtaining the documents were also added to the list of COVID deaths. With this, the death toll climbed to 67,631 in the state.
Three of the new patients returned from outside the state. 507 people contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 27 patients remains unidentified. 6 health worker also tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, 872 recoveries were also reported in the state.

64,57,300 people were recovered from the disease so far.
