Actress abduction: Lookout notice issued against accused

Police said these people belonged to a quotation gang in Thammanam

Kochi: The police, probing the abduction of an actress here, has issued a lookout notice against the remaining accused in the case.

Two persons were nabbed by the police from Coimbatore last night in connection with the case. The two accused –Vadival Salim and Pradeep—is said to have close ties with the main accused Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni, a native of Perumbavoor. The actress' driver Martin was arrested immediately after the incident.

Apart from them, Manikandan and Bijeesh were also involved in the crime, according to the police. Though there were seven persons in the gang, details of only six members have come out.

Police said these people belonged to a quotation gang in Thammanam.

Those arrested told police that the conspiracy for the kidnap was hatched a month back.

The investigation team has seized the tempo traveller used by the culprits to execute their plan. The vehicle was subjected to forensic examination and is kept under tight security cover. Clothes which were believed to have been used by the accused were recovered from the vehicle.

The arrested have also reportedly told police that they acted as per the advice of Sunil Kumar.

The actual motive behind the criminal act is yet not clear. Police suspect that black mailing is likely to be the intention of the gang.
