New Delhi: The Kerala government has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the Life Mission project.
The appeal has sought a stay on the High Court order which approved the CBI investigation into the case. On Thursday, Kerala will send a letter to the apex court seeking to consider the case immediately.
The appeal against the single bench verdict of the HC was filed by Life Mission CEO U. V. Jose.
Kerala alleged that HC finding that Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) violation, found by the HC is false. The stated government also said that the CBI registered the FIR without conducting a preliminary probe over the complaint filed by Anil Akkara.
The Kerala government is trying to bring the case to the notice of the apex court on Monday. The state government calculates that the CBI will immediately make its move in the case and hence the appeal in SC.
