Kasaragod: The Kerala Public Works Department terminated a contract of road construction over delay in finishing the works.

The M D Construction that was entrusted with the works in Perambra- Thannikandi- Chakkittapara road worth Rs 10 crores was removed from the responsibility.

The construction started on May 29, 2020. The deadline was February 2021. Minister Mohammed Riyas has inspected the progress and directed the company to finish the works. However, there was no progress. It forced the department to take the extreme step.

Earlier, the department had decided to impose a fine on Nath Constructions for delaying the works at a stretch of NH 766 in Kozhikode.
