VD Satheesan-Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has slammed Kerala government over the foreign visits of Kerala ministers and demanded more transparency in the trips.

His comments come at a time when CM Pinarayi Vijayan and some of his ministers are on a European visit.

Satheesan alleged that even the Opposition is not informed about the foreign visits. Opposition remains clueless about events attended by the chief minister and other ministers during their foreign visits, he added.

“We are not against foreign visits. But if the visits are at the expense of the government, then a proper progress card should be readied. Purpose of visit, its outcomes should be communicated,” Satheesan said.

He pointed out that official visits with family members will evoke people’s disgrace.

Satheesan alleged that visits are more often opaque and impromptu and it never delivered for safeguarding interests of state.
