Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has predicted that Kerala is likely to get heavy to very heavy rainfall in next days. In the wake of this, various districts were placed under red, orange and yellow alerts.
Red alert in 2 districts
A red alert is sounded in Kannur and Kasaragod on July 11, Sunday.
Orange alert in north districts
Saturday: Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur
Sunday: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad
Districts placed under Yellow alert
Friday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod
Saturday: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Wayanad, Kasaragod
Sunday: Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad
Monday: Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kasaragod
Tuesday: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayand, Kannur, Kasaragod
Fishermen are advised not to venture on Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.
People residing in low-lying areas, river banks and hilly areas prone to landslide and mudslide are advised to stay vigilant.
