Kochi: The Kerala High Court here on Friday ordered to recover excess land possessed by MLA PV Anvar. The court issued the order as dismissing a plea submitted by the Thamarassery land board chairman seeking time to recover the land.

In a judgement issued on March 24, the HC directed the government to take action to recover the excess land from Anvar and his family within 6 months. As per the case, the MLA possessed the land by violating the land reforms act. Later, the court also sought an explanation from the government over the action taken as per the order while considering a petition seeking contempt of court proceedings against the government.

On Friday, the HC directed the government to complete the proceedings to recover the land immediately. The court will consider the case again on January 4.
