Manju Warrier meets class 9 girl who sells FASTag for livelihood

Kochi: Mollywood actress Manju Warrier visited Shahreen Amaan, the class 9 girl who made headlines by selling FASTag at Kumbalam toll plaza to make the ends meet. The girl had opened up about her wish to meet the lady superstar during an interview with Mathrubhumi.com.

After coming to know about Shahreen’s dream through Mathrubhumi, Manju Warrier came forward to meet her.

“Manju Chechi noticed the news published by Mathrubhumi online. Today, I got the opportunity to meet her. She sat by me and told me that I must be bold. She kept motivating me throughout the meeting. Manju chechi also handed over a special gift to me. I was crazy to meet her. But I never thought I will get a chance to meet her soon. I’m on cloud nine now,” Shahreen told Mathrubhumi.com.

“Always be bold. Many women fight against all odds and turn successful in life. Now, you are taking care of so many things. Be strong and go ahead," Manju motivated the girl.

Shahreen’s little brother has some disabilities by birth. She decided to take up the responsibility of her family at a young age after finding that her mother cannot manage everything alone.

Earlier, she used to sell ‘Kulukki Sarbath’ at a roadside shop. Now, she started selling FASTag on the National Highway.

“I was a bit worried when Shahreen told me about the FASTag sale,” said her mother.

Shahreen wants to live happily at her home with her brother and mother. She also aspires to get an entry into the film field. Shahreen is a Class 9 student at Kumbalam RMP High School.
