I did not use caste remark, party did; S Rajendran snubs CPM enquiry report

S Rajendran

Munnar: Snubbing the enquiry report of the party which resulted in his suspension from CPM, former Devikulam MLA S Rajendran told media that it was the CPM and not him who used caste remark in the Assembly elections in his constituency.

Rejecting the findings of the commission, Rajendran said that he never used caste to gain votes. Party says it has not received the votes of one community. I have worked in the election for the party even though my picture with 'dignitaries' did not appear anywhere, he said.

"I put my maximum effort into the election. No one is a perfect human being. I don't think the district leadership will ever give me a good certificate. Some always tried to kick me out of the party. I am not confirming any names now. Time will prove my innocence," he said.

I don't wish to join CPI. But some CPM leaders wish that I would. One cannot attract cadres by namesake activities. Leaders must engage in grassroot. I have conducted public meetings where not even booth meetings were organised. The move against me was started much earlier, he alleged.
