Kochi: International Women's day on Tuesday literally became a ‘seize the day’ moment for women as Kerala High Court for the first time in the history witnessed a women-only full bench hearing a case. Interestingly, the counsel in the case was also a woman.

On Tuesday a full bench comprising Justices Anu Sivaraman, V Shircy and M.R Anitha heard petitions moved by the state government seeking review of the court's December 18, 2020 decision which held that the committee cannot make contributions from the Devaswom money to the relief funds of the CM or any government agency.. The counsel for state government was special government pleader for finance M R Sreelatha.

In its review petition Kerala government sought reconsideration of an order passed by another full bench which said Devaswom Managing Committee do not have the authority to give Guruvayur Devaswom’s fund to the government's disaster relief fund. The matter is posted to be considered after two weeks.
