Kochi: The Kerala High Court has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Swapna Suresh in the conspiracy case registered against her by the Kerala Police. The prosecution, while opposing the plea, told the court that the charges against Swapna were bailable and there is no threat of arrest as of now.
However, Swapna said she fears that non-bailable offences may be added later and she fears arrest.
Court, overlooking the arguments of Swapna, dismissed her plea.
PS Sarith had also approached the court. The prosecution argued that they have ulterior motives. It added that Sarith is not accused of conspiracy and hence no anticipatory bail is needed for him.
The government also accused political motives behind the 'revelations' of the Swapna. She aims to defame prominent personalities, it said.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Police handed over the case to Crime Branch and formed a 12-member special team to probe the complaint of KT Jaleel accusing conspiracy behind the recent allegations levelled by Swapna Suresh, gold smuggling case accused.
