Palakkad: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that around 3 lakh backdoor placements had taken place within the last 5 years and the state has been witnessing a 'backdoor placement fair' during this period. He was addressing the media in Palakkad as part of the Aishwarya Kerala Yatra.

Instead of appointing youngsters included in PSC ranklists, many placements are taking place via contract and consultancy services in the previous five years. The party members, relatives and friends were being appointed in vacant posts, he said.

If UDF comes to power, we will legislate a law against illegal appointments. Temporary placements should be done through employment exchanges only, Chennithala added.

Ramesh Chennithala also talked about the controversy related to the appointment in Kaladi University. The three subject experts who raised the complaint are not Congress supporters, but LDF supporters. However, the CPM is disgracing them for revealing truth, he pointed out.

MV Govindan Master said that they cannot go forward without considering believers. Then will he initiate to withdraw the affidavit filed by LDF and accept the one filed by the UDF, Chennithala asked.

The LDF government is fooling everyone by stating that they would discuss the matter after the court pronounces the verdict. The government refused to call an all-party meet when the supreme court announced the verdict last time. The government should make clear what is their stand on the issue, Chennithala said.
