Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of the union government's affidavit filed with Kerala High Court on the SilverLine semi high-speed rail corridor project, the Opposition leader VD Satheesan here on Tuesday has slammed the state government.
The union government on the other day had informed the court that the project has not yet received final nod and the expense on the social impact survey is beared by the K-Rail.
Taking this as an opportunity, Satheesan said that the government wasted crores of rupees without a nod from the union government and railway ministry. He alleged that the chief minister did not have replies when Opposition questioned the project in Kerala Assembly and outside.
“The CM had arrogantly maintained that there is no stepping back. The money spent by the state government for the project without approval should be redeemed from authorities concerned,” he said.
However, in the affidavit, the union government had clarified that the state can conduct a social impact survey without final nod for the project.
