Kozhikode: ‘Ente Jilla’, an app rolled out by the state government offering wide variety of features, including option to review functioning of government offices under each district, failed to attract netizens. The app launched in August 2021 has only one lakh downloads till date. As on July 6, the number of responses received by the app in the form of appreciations and criticisms totals 13,081.

The overall rating of the app is 4.1 stars. 7,210 users have given 5-star rating for the app while 3,760 users have given 1-star rating. The app has details of 4,882 organizations related to government across 14 districts. Yet, other user behaviour metrics suggest that people are not finding the app handy.

Still many government offices are not listed in the app. Sources said, the listing of 4,882 organizations is not something great if the total number of offices under all government departments are considered. One of the core objectives of the app was to provide details, contact numbers, mail IDs and location of government organizations.

Kannur district has listed the highest number of organizations with 605. Another interesting data is that revenue department offices occupy major share of the listing in app. 868 organizations under the department are listed.

Among the reviews, offices under LSGD received more criticisms.

The app has been developed by National Informatics Centre, which is under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
