Thiruvananthapuram: Giving relief to many parents, the Kerala government has taken action to ensure child-friendly theatres in the state. KSFDC has opened its first crying room in Thiruvananthapuram Kairali theatre as part of this move.
When a child cries inside a theatre, the parent can access the crying room and continue watching the movie without disturbing others. Most people with toddlers often fail to watch the movie as the child starts crying. The children often get disturbed by the sound and darkness inside the theatres. Hence, the idea of the crying room was conceived to solve this issue.
The sound-proof crying room has a few seats for parents or caregivers to watch the movie through a glass window. The room also has facilities like a cradle and diaper-changing arrangements.
Minister VN Vasavan informed that crying rooms will be opened in all theatres under KSFDC.
