Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan has expressed his displeasure over Kalamandalam vice-chancellor Dr TK Narayanan’s refusal to be in-person despite the former summoning him in relation to the reappointment of PRO at Kalamandalam. Khan’s stand over the matter will be communicated later, informed the Raj Bhavan in its reply to the VC.

Governor, who is also the chancellor, had revoked the dismissal of the PRO of Kalamandalam and issued an order to reappoint him. However, Kalamandalam did not abide Governor’s direction and maintained that the post of PRO is not required in Kalamandalam and thereby the authority has scrapped the post. Over the matter the Governor directed the VC to appear before him with the files concerned.

In reply, VC sent an email to Raj Bhavan claiming that Kalamandalam will not come under the Governor’s ambit as it is a deemed university. The VC also cited the reference of public interest litigation from the High Court.
