Kerala government confirms judicial probe against central agencies; issues official order
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has issued an official order confirming a judicial probe against the central agencies including the Enforcement Directorate and Customs which probe gold smuggling case and dollar smuggling case. An official order regarding this was issued on May 7.
High Court retired judge VK Mohan has been appointed as the judicial commission to carry out the probe. The commission has been asked to carry out a detailed probe against the central agencies.
The commission will consider five subjects including the revelation of gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair. Swapna’s telephone conversation was revealed that she was pressurised to name CM in the gold smuggling case. Sandeep Nair also revealed that the central agencies tried to name speaker and ministers in the case.
The judicial commission has been directed to submit the report within 6 months from the date of the official order.
